This group is formed by some of the folks responsible for the art and music space Yes Oui Si in the Fenway area near the MFA. This group and that organization are supporting a lot of the most interesting underground music in Boston right now. The Hogstompers are some pretty simple folk country jams. This collection of mostly live recordings and demos is available for free download over at Boston DIY's bandcamp page here.

Extraneous Noise Videos :: Neon Indian

Here's a live video of Neon Indian's "Should Have Taken Acid with You" at Great Scott.

Remorse over psychedelic drugs is the worst kind.

Extraneous Noise has this interesting little project going on, where they're doing video segments on bands around Boston. I've always really wished there was something like Blogotheque's Take-Away Shows, but for our side of the pond, and this is a step in the right direction.

Ambitious Tugboat :: Download Full In Studio Set

Bands In Boston is a treasure I've only recently discovered. They just recently did a "Flophouse" session with locals Ambitious Tugboat. The five piece has some little folk songs that trade jokes and wisdom for your ears and are addictive to listen to. It also includes the man, the myth and the legend: Sam Potrykus on bass. This session is an awesome thing to have until the band can put out a proper release.
