VIDEO: The National :: Exile Vilify
Below is the video for "Exile Vilify," a track The National wrote for the game Portal 2. The group had a contest for the video and this is the result. A lonely sock puppet wandering through the wilderness.

VIDEO: The National :: Bloodbuzz Ohio
Below the jump, the video for "Bloodbuzz Ohio" accomplishes visually what the band was trying to do on High Violet exceptionally well. It's very slow, subtle, even a bit dry, in order to highlight the how uncomfortable the protagonist is in his own skin and in his own life. This dignified, bearded, suit wearing adult snaps his fingers like a lounge singer and wanders through fields in a trench coat. The martini he sips alone at a bar reflects the buzzing blood element of the song. The best and most telling part of the video is at 3:28 when he is indecisive about crossing his arms on a park bench. Read more about a Mango Nebula favorite album from 2010 here.

VIDEO: The National :: Conversation 16

Below the jump, the latest video from The National is a little tale of political intrigue. It features John Slattery from Mad Men and Mel (Kristin Schaal) from Flight of the Conchords. The director of the video is a writer for The Daily Show. All excellent connections.Read more about the Mango Nebula favorite album from 2010 here.

Mango Nebula 2010 :: According to Last.fm
In searching for other ways to arbitrarily quantify music, I started thinking about all the different subjective influences on "lists" and that it might be a good idea to isolate each one and note the qualifier. So, here is my list of albums from 2010 that I listened to the most, according to last.fm (which is irrefutable).
